MUTEK Festival announces new artists for 25th anniversary edition

The music and digital arts festival adds more acts to their milestone anniversary celebration, taking place from 20 – 25 August.

A wave of new artists have been announced for the 25th anniversary of MUTEK Festival in Montréal. The updated line-up features an eclectic list of eminent artists such as CLOUD BODIES, Sinjin Hawke & Zora Jones, DJ Hermano & OJPB and Bana Haffar. The event will also feature audiovisual spectacles from multidisciplinary artists Sonya Stefan and Stéphanie Castonguay, together known as Technologies of Consciousness, who will present the highly anticipated world premiere of the fruit of their Avatar-MUTEK creation and dissemination residency, as well as the dome’s avant-garde programming on Friday evening in partnership with non-profit, femme-driven platform, FEMINAE NOX.

They will be joining previously announced acts such as Bored Lord, Tati Au Miel, Ela Minus and Evian Christ, as well as A/V collaborative performances from the likes of Amnesia Scanner & Freeka Tet and Zoë McPherson & Alessandra Leonne.

The festival also announced the five overarching series making up the programme: Special Event, Nocturne, A/Visions, Métropolis and Expérience, culminating in almost 80 live performances in several spaces in the heart of the city, bringing together nearly 120 artists from 24 countries.
