The 14th edition of the Portuguese festival takes place from 24-27 October.
Semibreve has revealed the finalised programme for this year’s festival, which will take place across various locations in the City of Braga, Portugal.
New acts booked for the event include Oslo-based artist Carmen Villain, Grammy-award winning trombonist Kalia Vandever, self-taught pianist and composer Giovanni Di Domenico, and Stockholm-based musican and composer Shida Shahab. Brothers Saint Abdullah will also link up with long-time collaborator Eomac and visual artist Rebecca Salvadori for their latest joint project, A Forbidden Distance.
Previously announced artists include Nidia, who will bring her radiating 95 Mindjeres project to the big stage, revered producer and dub techno aficionado Moritz von Oswald, Rrose, Ziúr and PYUR. Experimental Mancunian rapper Iceboy Violet will team up with Nueen following the release of their album You Said You’d Hold My Hand Through The Fire in June, while Kevin Richard Martin, also known as The Bug, will showcase his new effort Black, a musical eulogy to Amy Winehouse.
The festival occurs at numerous venues throughout Bragra, such as the contemporary art space gnration, Theatro Circo, Capela Imaculada and UNESCO World Heritage site Bom Jesus.
Like previous editions, these spaces will feature curated performances, installations, talks and workshops across the weekend. At Semibreve, there’s a keen focus on celebrating sonic expression and forward-thinking artists from across the world who aren’t afraid to take risks.
