The collaboration offers 30 fans the chance to see Ezra Collective, Pale Waves, Maverick Sabre and Nova Twins record live at Metropolis on four separate nights and grab an exclusive vinyl pressing of each performance.
Renowned recording space Metropolis Studios has teamed up with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey to present ‘Live To Vinyl’ – a once-in-a-lifetime experience where fans can win the opportunity to witness an artist’s music-making process in its entirety, from the live recordings to the pressing of the wax. Reviving the traditional method used for public music recordings and using its cutting lathes to capture each session, Metropolis will then create a bespoke, real and unreplicable set of vinyls which will be packaged and posted to attendees.
Following an online lottery, 30 winners will be invited into one of four sessions at the West London studios with a selection of boundary-breaking British artists making music across a range of genres.
First up, UK jazz purveyors Ezra Collective bring joy and infectious grooves to the studio on 7 September. With their 2022 album Where I’m Meant To Be earning them the Mercury Prize the following year, the quintet were the first jazz act to win the award in its 31-year history, representing a new era for the genre.
Mancunian band Pale Waves will follow with a set on 14 September, days before the release of their anticipated fourth album, Smitten, via Dirty Hit. Shifting their focus to world-building with the record, we’re expecting an expansion of their pop-rock sound and plenty more gothy visuals from the band, whilst still retaining the singular identity they’ve built within the scene.
Irish vocalist and rapper Maverick Sabre takes the mic at Metropolis on 12 October. Having been releasing music for over a decade and collaborated with the likes of Jorja Smith and Demae in the process, the artist is set to bring soaring sounds, self-healing themes, and pure soul to the studio.
Finally, alt-rock duo Nova Twins will cap off the dates on 19 October. Made up of vocalist/guitarist Amy Love and bassist Georgia South, expect the pair to raise the energy with a mix of blistering riffs, heavy bass and punk spirit.
Winners will have access to a tour of Metropolis Studios, as well as the chance to chat with each artist during a short Q&A session following the performances. Complimentary cocktails will also be served at each event, featuring and supported by Jack Daniel’s.
