Glastonbury launches Emerging Talent Competition for 2025

The annual talent competition, which offers winners the opportunity to perform at this year’s festival, is open for one week until 3 February.

Glastonbury Festival’s Emerging Talent competition is now open for 2025.

Free to enter and open to rising UK and Ireland-based artists of any genre, the competition provides winners with the chance to play a main stage slot at this year’s edition, set to take place from 25-29 June.

The PRS for Music and PRS Foundation-supported competition will also award a £5,000 Talent Development Prize to the winner, and £2,500 to two runners up.

To enter, acts need to supply a link to one original song and a video of themselves performing live. A panel of 30 music writers will then create a longlist of 90 artists, who will be shortlisted to a group of eight by a judging panel that includes Michael and Emily Eavis. Finalists will then perform at a live event in Pilton where a winner will be decided.

“We know how hard it is for new acts to take their first steps towards a career in music – particularly with the challenges facing small venues in this country,” Emily Eavis said.

2024’s winner was Jamaican-Irish rapper JayaHadADream.

Entries opened at 9am today (27 January), and will close at 5pm GMT on 3 February. Go to Glastonbury’s website to enter now.
