The Italian festival will visit both Naples and Cilento this summer, with programmes featuring Vegyn and Deena Abdelwahed.
Bloc Fest has announced two dates for its fifth edition. Inspired by the concept of ‘the Antidote’, each event will both bring musicians from across the globe together to celebrate music, culture and nature, and explore our complex response to the contradictions of globalisation.
The festival will open with a preview event on Saturday 24 May. Hosted by cultural hub La Santissima, the line-up features Egyptian producer Abadir & Turkish percussionist Hogir, Egyptian artist nour, sound artist Sara Persico, Deena Abdelwahed, and the Palestine Sound Archive.
Bloc Fest will then host an immersive two-day event on June 20 and 21 in the UNESCO World Heritage area Cilento, with views of the picturesque Tenuta degli Eremi – a 24-hectare organic farm in the heart of the Cilento National Park in Acciaroli.
The first evening will see performances form Attila Faravelli, Cosimo Damiano, DJ Python and John Talabot. Saturday’s performances will kick off with a show from Turin-based DJ and designer Luce Clandestina, followed by the experimental sounds of Milan W., ojoo and Piezo. Musical and artistic project STILL presents Alma Lapilli, with Raffaele Cardone & Romeo Barbaro, is also on the bill, before previous Crack cover star Vegyn closes the show.
Tickets are available on DICE.
