Local – The new three stop UK tour from Mura Masa focuses on platforming emerging talent from outside major cities.
Working with local scene leaders Mia Lily, Boo & ZMARAKS, Mura Masa reveals Local, a three stop UK tour focused in Stockport-on-Tees (13 June), Blackpool (19 June), and Bradford (20 June).
In collaboration with Relentless Energy as part of the Relentless Freeform Platform, the tour looks to celebrate places that keep music culture alive and offer a reminder of the scenes happening across the UK in towns and cities that often receive little national attention.
Performing alongside Mura Masa, Stockport-on-Tees will see sets by DJs and producers REES, Alousea, and Cousin Dan, followed by D-Foc, Hometones, and Pacemaker in Blackpool. The tour closes out in Bradford with performances by RUFUS!, Glor1a, Stave, Yin Yang Boys, and Lloydfears.
“I love London, Manchester, Glasgow – but you shouldn’t have to be in a big city to make something happen or get the same kind of access,” says Mura Masa. “There’s actually so much going on in smaller towns — you just have to look properly. I’m looking forward to showing what’s already out there with Relentless and seeing how many different scenes are thriving. There’s nothing like the buzz of discovering an amazing new act in your local town.”
The tour will be followed by a digital zine documenting the artists and communities involved, curated by Mura Masa and designed by Liverpool-based creative studio ToothGrinder. Mura Masa will also contribute to the Freeform Forum mentorship programme that offers support to early-stage artists navigating the music industry.
Tickets for all three shows are available here.
