Khan’s also urging young people to go and get vaccinated.
London Mayor Sadiq Khan has revealed that he intends to go clubbing once current Covid-19 restrictions lift in England on 19 July.
Khan outlined his plans in a new interview with UNILAD. “I’m somebody who has not been clubbing for 25 years, so I’m looking forward to going clubbing,” he said. When asked about the sort of nights or clubs he plans to attend, Khan said he’d visit anywhere that played “80s music or R&B.”
“I was an embarrassing dad dancer before I was a dad, I’m not going to change,” he added.
Khan also emphasised the importance of young people continuing to receive their vaccinations. So far, more than 50% of Londoners aged 18 to 29 have received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine. In the interview, he states that this must continue in order to reduce potential risks surrounding the easing of lockdown measures.
“What’s really important is for Londoners to be aware that this virus will be here for some time, so what we’ve got to try and do is mitigate [the risk.] That’s why it’s so important to get the jab.” Khan said.
As part of a push to get the city vaccinated ahead of 19 July, Khan is offering Londoners who gets vaccinated, or books a vaccination, the chance to win two tickets to the final of Euro 2020 at Wembley this Sunday (11 July).
