The project is a collaboration between Kiosk Radio, Radio Raheem and Radio 80000.
The three online radio stations have come together to launch 25AV – a platform aimed at supporting underground talent from Europe’s visual arts and music scenes. 25AV also seeks to foster cross-border connections between musicians and visual artists from different parts of Europe.
Alongside announcing the new platform, they have launched an open call for artists to get involved. In line with the project’s collaborative focus, each music producer will pair up with a visual artist based in a different European country – making 25AV the first fully transnational platform of its kind. Submissions are open until 14 October via the 25AV website.
18 pairs of producers and artists will be selected by an independent committee. The successful applicants will then be commissioned to create exclusive audiovisual works. Once selected, the 25AV platform will also spotlight the creatives involved, featuring interviews and information on each individual’s background and artistic practice.
Alongside the online programme, the project is also set to encompass events held in the cities where the three radio stations behind the platform are based. A series of live audiovisual performances, talks and exhibitions are slated to be held in Milan, Brussels and Munich from October to December 2023.
