In a new video, a member of the bloods and a member of the crips discuss Kendrick Lamar’s peace promoting trainers.
Kendrick Lamar’s new trainers for Reebok feature the word red on one shoe and the word blue on the other. Far from a mere stylistic quirk the trainers represent the two major gangs in Lamar’s native Compton, the bloods and the crips. The trainers also feature tags which read ‘Neutral’ in response to the escalating violence between the gangs.
In a video that dropped yesterday, a pair of gang members from opposing factions talk about the trainers and their message of peace. Watch the clip in the player above.
