The award-nominated festival brought electronic music’s finest purveyors to Croatia’s Fort Punta Christo once again. Photographer Dan Medhurst lensed a series of portraits of the artists backstage.

It says a lot about a festival when even the wettest week Croatia has ever seen all summer can’t dampen the mood. The first yearly instalment of Leeds-on-Sea unfortunately brought the weather with it, but it also brought the legendary LS6 commitment to having a good time. Despite unrelenting rain, The Fort having to be evacuated, boat parties being moved downstairs, freak storms, and makeshift hoods having to be made out of plastic bags, Dimensions didn’t lose the vibe that has made it one of the festival calendar highlights for a minute.

Headlining the opening concert at the Roman Amphitheatre this year was the iconic Grace Jones, who moved through an impossible amount of outfit changes, hula-hooped nonchalantly for the duration of an entire song and high-fived the crowd whilst riding on the shoulders of a bemused security guard. Techno queen Helena Hauff played a trademark raw and industrial set, stomping away into the early hours of the morning. To no-one’s surprise but everyone’s delight, UK-excellence Josey Rebelle came through for the boat party with selections as wavy as the stormy sea itself.

There were also incredible sets from Willow and Pinch, the latter of which moved perfectly through dark techno into dubstep and eventually drum n bass.
