Listen to Cera Khin’s searing summer playlist
Welcome back to Selections, a series of artist-curated playlists from those in the know.
During turbulent times, some producers may find themselves drawn to the outer edges of electronic music – soothing ambient territory, perhaps, or harder, more confrontational terrain. Cera Khin, the Tunisian artist who initially nurtured her passion for cranium-pummelling techno, hardcore, trance and other hard-edged sounds while residing in Berlin – is a DJ and producer instinctively drawn to the latter.
Across past releases, namely 2021’s Demons to Some Angels to Others (which she released via her own imprint, LazyTapes), Khin laid out her blistering manifesto: hard and fast – always – and firmly rooted in the sticky tiles of a dark basement club. Her radio shows for UK stations such as Noods and Rinse FM alongside her club gigs do well to support this mission, too.
With the long-awaited festival season finally underway and a forthcoming show at Serbia’s Exit Festival on the horizon, we’re thrilled to have Khin stop by our Selections series with an exclusive Buy Music Club playlist. Nicknamed ‘Summer Hits 2022’ by Khin – who also described her choices as “hot music only” – this 20-track collection features scorching cuts and frenetic bangers from DJ Genderfluid, Azyr, Héctor Oaks and more. Sweat-inducing stuff.
Cera Khin plays Exit Festival, Novi Sad, on 7-10 July
