With a decade-deep track record and a vibrant catalogue of his own dancefloor gems, Liverpool-based DJ, producer and Club Bad head honcho Melé draws from a wide palette spanning house, afro house, techno, Chicago grooves, transatlantic hip-hop, Brazilian beats, UK rave rhythms and more.
He brings that same dynamic range to his Crack Mix, working his way with precision from hypnotic tribal house to big room bangers with a couple of unreleased bits from himself and Club Bad sprinkled in there too. Get locked in.
Who: Melé.
Where: Liverpool.
What: I mainly work with anything percussive, all under the umbrella of house and techno. There is a lot of that in this mix. Also, some more New York house sounds, some techno, and some new unreleased records from me and my label, Club Bad.
When: This mix is made for around 11:30 pm, going into peak time, starting with hypnotic tribal house and ending with a big Underworld banger. It’s how I would ideally love to start and finish my sets every time I play.
Why: I’m still as obsessed with it as I was when I was 12 years old. Collecting and finding new music is still the most exciting thing in the world to me, as is being able to make music from scratch.
Melé will go b2b with KILIMANJARO at this year’s edition of HARD Summer, which will take place between 2-3 August in LA.
