For much-loved producer and DJ Auntie Flo (aka Brian d’Souza), a need for therapy through sound became a shared endeavour. Launching a 24-hour radio station of ambient music was part of a bigger professional and creative development which he’s brought to this soothing Sunday Mix.
“The basis for this mix was done for a solo live performance I did at Giant Steps last year, which was the first time I used the alias Ambient Flo.” he tells us over email. “Since then, I launched a 24/7 radio playing music that has helped me cope with lockdown. I’ve also been training (or should that be ‘re-training’ according to the government) as a sound therapist and a lot of this set takes inspiration from my learnings there. It’s a kind of stream of consciousness, a lot played live in one take and with a couple of older tracks re-imagined for 2020.”
