Volte-Face

London-based Volte-Face is the mind behind the city’s long-running experimental club series, BleeD, a name under which he also curates for 22tracks and hosts a sporadic Rinse FM residency, alongside Rory Gibb. Recently shifting his focus onto his studio productions, the first fruits of his labour are starting to see the light of day, with a Daniel Avery remix dropping in January, and solo material to follow. Volte-Face is also set to bring his heady and, at times, confrontational sound to Simple Things Festival this Saturday, playing Lakota Room 1 alongside the Hyperdub showcase featuring Kode9, Laurel Halo, Cooly G and Scratcha DVA. Warm up for this Saturday’s event with our latest Crack Mix, where he showcases the hallmarks of his sound – deep and colourful effects allied to a tough, Euro-centric techno core, including a taste of what’s to come in the form of original track Sine Qua Non.

Tickets for Simple Things Festival this Saturday 25 October are still available to buy from tickets.crackmagazine.net.
