German filmmaker Volker Schaner’s documentary will show at The Cube on March 16.
Simple Things have announced a screening of Lee Scratch Perry’s Visions of Paradise. Shot over the course of 13 years, the film provides a window into the life of the enigmatic dub trailblazer’s world, following Perry from his Switzerland home, to Ethiopia and to the legendary Black Ark studio which was recently destroyed for a second time by fire.
The film features interviews with Perry’s friends and family as well as numerous peers and collaborators including Adrian Sherwood and Martin ‘Youth’ Glover.
