Watch Nadia Tehran talk life, expression and music with Sian Anderson

In Partnership with Smirnoff

In a new video brought to you by Smirnoff, Swedish-Iranian hip-hop artist Nadia Tehran meets Radio 1Xtra DJ Sian Anderson for a conversation about her unique life and her borderless understanding of her own music.

In the video, Tehran tells Anderson, “I’ve always felt borderless. It’s not about how you look, it’s an energy. We’re all together in this feeling of belonging and not belonging”.

Having shot her video for Refugee in Iran (an act which is technically deemed illegal there), Tehran is an artist with a unique backstory who fully supports the believe that music should promote inclusivity and togetherness.

This video continues Smirnoff’s We’re Open campaign which has previously looked at Voguing culture and deaf London-based dancer Chris Fonesca.
