The Gate is the first release from Björk’s upcoming album Utopia
The video for Björk’s first single has dropped. The visual, directed by Andrew Thomas Huang, sees Björk adorned with an iridescent, holographic Gucci dress designed by Alessandro Michele. According to Huang, “The Gate… is the first glimpse into Björk’s utopia.” He continues describing it as “a declaration of hope sung by a woman refracted and re-formed into a luminous whole”.
Utopia, co-produced by Arca, has been described by Björk as her “Tinder record”. It is due for release this November.
