Programme for annual celebration of Piano Day revealed

London-based label Float is set to celebrate its first anniversary by hosting a programme of performances to coincide with Piano Day, on 29 March, at London’s Town Hall Hotel.

The event has been billed as “an evening of piano, percussion and dance”. David Moore, from minimalist ensemble Bing & Ruth, will perform a special solo piano set, and percussionist Andrea Belfi will connect with composer Sebastian Plano for a one-off collaboration, melding percussion with electronic production and piano sounds.

Furthermore, the imprint will host an improvised dance performance from Mikey Ureta, a member of ZooNation: The Kate Prince Company.

Former Crack cover star Nils Frahm first created Piano Day in 2015. Taking place on the 88th day of each year, Piano Day promotes a global celebration of the instrument.
