The Institute for Sound and Music has announced the programme for its immersive exhibition in The Hexadome.
The aim of the exhibition is to “to redefine the museum experience” with audiovisual shows, installations and performances focusing on the intersection of art and technology. Thom Yorke has been announced as a contributor, and he’ll be partnering with frequent collaborator Tarik Barri for an “AV composition in 3D” featuring the Radiohead frontman singing in a virtual world.
Also announced for the exhibition’s programme is Brian Eno, Holly Herndon with Mat Dryhurst, Ben Frost and MFO, Peter Van Hoesen with Heleen Blanken and others.
The Hexadome will feature projection design from Berlin studio Pfadfinderei and a soundsystem from ZKM Institute For Music And Acoustics.
The exhibition will run from 29 March to 22 April at the Martin-Gropius-Bau. Head to ISM’s website for more information.
Check out a trailer for the exhibition below, and read Tarik Barri’s tweet confirming his collaboration with Yorke.
This is real: with @thomyorke I’ll be creating an AV composition in 3D, with him singing in my virtual “Versum” universe. This will be presented in AV surround in the Hexadome (https://t.co/xR7nPGgbRw) at @gropiusbau from april 6th onwards! …check out the other artists too…
