Amsterdam-based festival Appelsap has announced the first acts for its 2018 edition.
Uniting sounds from across the diaspora, the Dutch hip-hop event adds Kojo Funds to the programme, alongside the self-proclaimed ‘Godfather of Grime’ Wiley, Chicago’s Famous Dex, Madlib, Kojey Radical and Nines. Spotlighting new, up-and-coming artists on the line-up, the bookings include cloud rapper Jacin Trill and Bronx-based teenage artist Smooky Margielaa.
London selector Amy Becker – who features on Crack Magazine’s list of The 50 Most Exciting DJs in the World (Right Now) – is set to take over the decks, sewing together reggaeton, grime, trap and UK drill for the dancefloor.
Appelsap returns to Flevopark, in the Dutch capital, for a one-day takeover on 11 August. Head to the festival’s website for tickets.
