Sade

In a new interview with Rated R&B, musician Stuart Matthewman revealed that he’s been working with Sade on a new album.

Currently, the two have been in the studio collaborating on “a bunch of songs”, and the collection of new material will serve as the follow-up to Sade’s 2010 album Soldier of Love. As of yet, there’s no release date. “The record company knows there’s no point in nagging us or giving us deadlines. It doesn’t really help the process,” he told Rated R&B.

“[Sade’s] not interested in the fame or any of that stuff. She likes to put out art. So when it’s ready, it will come out.”

Matthewman was an original member of the band and has since remained as a longtime collaborator. Earlier this year, Sade released her first track in seven years. Called Flower of the Universeit formed part of the soundtrack to Ava DuVernay’s remake of A Wrinkle in Time.
