XOYO has tapped Hunee as its next resident.
The Korean selector – who features on our list of the 50 Most Exciting DJs in the World (Right Now) – will play 10 consecutive Fridays at the London venue, from 12 October to 14 December. The series, called Postcards from Hunee, will see a curated programme of guests head up Room 1, whilst Room 2 will be taken over by Brilliant Corners each week.
“In the last year I played twice at XOYO, once with MCDE and a few months ago with Ben UFO and Shackleton. Both nights were musically quite different, but they both were exciting and fun and adventurous,” Hunee said. [sic]
“When I got ‘that email’ from the club, I thought, this could be something… and well, now it is… in October 2018, I will start a three-month residency at XOYO in London, playing each Friday for 10 weeks in a row, together with people who have and continue to inspire me with their ear, taste, style, craft and spirit. Plus, a big London inspiration – the Brilliant Corners family – will transform and host the second room for the whole duration of the residency… I am delighted!” [sic]
The DJ will follow current resident Flava D, who’s enlisted Wiley, Amy Becker, AJ Tracey, Sir Spyro, Jubilee, Swing Ting and Donae’O for her series.
