The Berlin festival has made its first announcement for 2019.

CTM will be celebrating its 20th anniversary next year with the theme Persistence. Inviting new artists and longtime collaborators to celebrate, the theme will examine “the aesthetic and societal potentials and pains of perseverance, and of its opposite – the transient and the provisional”. As stated by the press release, the next chapter of CTM will explore what’s worth being persistent about, and how.

Musically, those confirmed for the special edition are Yves Tumor, Tirzah, Curl, Eartheater, Gazelle Twin and 700 Bliss. Lotic will debut his new audiovisual collaboration Endless Power with visual artist Emmanuel Biard. A live AI and audiovisual show will be helmed by Actress and “AI sprite” Young Paint, while Rabih Beaini is set to perform with the Pouja Pouramin Ensemble. Furthermore, DJ Haram will be taking to the decks at the event, along with Riobamba.

The next edition of CTM will be spread across various venues in Berlin on 25 January to 3 February. Head to CTM’s website for more information, and watch Crack Magazine’s video of Actress performing with the London Contemporary Orchestra.
