The Berlin festival for experimental electronic music will take place from 25 January to 3 February 2019.
CTM Festival has confirmed a third wave of acts for its 20th anniversary edition, with Fatima al Qadiri, Deena Abdelwahed, Juliana Huxtable and Violet among the names joining the festival’s impressive line-up. The newly announced acts join previously confirmed artists, which include Yves Tumor, Tirzah, Eartheater, Gazelle Twin, Lotic, Actress, Venetian Snares and Perrera Elsewhere.
As it enters its third decade in 2019, the festival will take the concept of persistence as its guiding theme. Bringing together emerging musicians alongside more established international acts, the festival has stated via a press release that it aims to explore “aesthetic and societal potentials and pains of perseverance, and of its opposite – the transient and the provisional”.
CTM 2019 is set to combine 10 evenings of concerts and club nights with a daytime programme of talks, workshops and exhibitions. The festival will be spread out across various cultural institutions in the German city, including Astra, Berghain, HAU Hebbel am Ufer and YAAM.
Passes can be purchased from CTM’s website and are valued at between 120€ and 190€. Listen to Deena Abdelwahed’s exclusive mix for Crack Magazine.
