Matangi / Maya / M.I.A is available to rent on Amazon and iTunes.
In September, the highly-anticipated documentary was released in UK cinemas and now, from today (11 December), it’s also available to rent or buy on demand via various online retailers including iTunes and Amazon.
Directed by longtime friend Stephen Loveridge, with a score by Paul Hicks and Dhani Harrison, the documentary focuses on the life and career of the former Crack Magazine cover star. Made from 20 years of previously unreleased personal footage, Loveridge offers insight into M.I.A.’s development as a musician, as well as her Sri Lankan upbringing. Though it was teased for years and long-delayed, it finally premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival, where it won the World Cinema Documentary Special Jury Award.
