Elevate completes 2019 line-up with Ikonika, Astrid Sonne and more

The festival’s 15th edition will take place from 27 February to 3 March in Graz, Austria.

Elevate, the Austrian festival for music, arts and political discourse, has finalised its 2019 line-up. Artists such as producer and digital artist Konx-Om-Pax, and experimentalist Astrid Sonne have been added to the music programme.

Influential label Hyperdub with celebrate its 15th anniversary on the Friday night, with label stalwart Ikonika confirmed to play. Other new additions to the Hyperdub 15 stage include Angolan producer Nazar, Scratchclart & MC Lady Lykez and gqom duo Okzharp & Manthe Ribane.

These names and more join an already stellar line-up alongside Paula Temple, Bjarki, Lee Gamble, Dorian Concept, Kelly Moran, Miss Red, Bjarki, Michael Mayer, DAF, rRoxymore, Jayda G, Deena Abdelwahed, Traxman and Kode9.

Speakers for Elevate’s 2019 discourse programme include activist and former actress Pamela Anderson. American politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will also make an appearance at Elevate, albeit via video stream.

The festival will take place in the Austrian city of Graz. Combining an extensive musical programme with lectures, discussions, workshops and documentary films, Elevate is a cultural project of ambitious scope. For its landmark 15 anniversary edition, the festival will take the concept of truth as its guiding theme. Through each facet of its programme, Elevate will interrogate phenomena such as fake news and the social media echo chamber.
