Legendary industrial band Severed Heads to play rare Bristol show

The Australian industrial group will play a gig in Bristol’s city centre on 24 May.

Today (20 February), Simple Things has announced a rare live show from Severed Heads. The Sydney outfit, founded in 1979 and best known for 1984 crossover hit Dead Eyes Opened, will be heading to the UK city on 24 May. Though details of the venue are yet to be confirmed, Severed Heads will head up a Bristol space with a body of work that spans industrial, proto-house and post-punk. Reissues in recent years, helmed by Medical Records and Dark Entries, has brought the group’s material to a wider audience.

Simple Things hosts a multi-venue festival in Bristol each year. Aside from the annual event, standalone shows are also showcased across the year. In 2018, Simple Things hosted the likes of Slowdive, Black Midi, Helena Hauff and Optimo.

Tickets will go on sale on Friday 22 February at 9am (GMT). Head to the Facebook page for further information.
