Janet Jackson bumps up her billing on doctored Glastonbury poster

Janet Jackson

The star has shared her own version of the Glastonbury line-up poster – with her name bumped up to the top.

Glastonbury made its first major line-up announcement last Friday (15 March), confirming The Killers and The Cure as its final headliners, and Kylie for the Legends slot. While Jackson’s name, in the official poster, is placed last in the top line, last night (18 March) the star tweeted an edited version featuring her name in the far left – the top spot where The Killers were originally placed. See her tweet below.

Jackson’s poster edit has been celebrated as both a comment on gender disparity and as a case of self-promotion. Last week, the BBC reported that 42% of the line-up is made up of women. Glastonbury co-organiser Emily Eavis told the publication that the festival line-up is “a little way off being 50/50” but affirmed that the organisers are “definitely moving in the right direction”.

Following their traditional fallow year in 2018, Glastonbury returns to Worthy Farm this summer with a line-up featuring Crack Magazine cover stars Christine & the Queens and Little Simz.
