Massive Attack will finally release the dub version of Mezzanine on vinyl

Massive Attack vs. Mad Professor Part II (Mezzanine Remix Tapes) is arriving in September.

Massive Attack have announced the vinyl release of Mad Professor’s dub versions of their third studio album Mezzanine. Massive Attack vs. Mad Professor Part II (Mezzanine Remix Tapes) arrives in September via UMC / Virgin EMI and will feature versions of the Bristol group’s classics like, Teardrop, Angel and Inertia Creeps. A remastered digital version of the original album will be released next week (23 August).

The album arrives pressed on pink vinyl with sleeve artwork created by Brute!’s Aiden Hughes and packaging designed by Robert Del Naja and Tom Hingston.

The dub reworkings were created shortly after the release of Mezzanine in 1998, and were originally meant to be released as an accompaniment to the album. The release was ultimately shelved with only a handful of tracks appearing as single B-sides.

Massive Attack are currently touring with their show Mezzanine XXI in North America, after performing several dates across the UK and Europe – including a homecoming gig in Bristol – earlier in the year.
