The Bristol band have prolifically been writing new material for their next album.
Last week, IDLES’ 2020 LP Ultra Mono topped the UK albums chart, marking the band’s first ever UK number one release. Frontman Joe Talbot revealed this week that, in instead of celebrating, the group were “in the room writing album four”. Now, on an interview with Guitar.com Live, band member Lee Kiernan revealed, “We’re testing the waters. We’ve got lots of ideas, there’s like 30 songs on the table.”
“It’s no pressure but we wanna find what this album means to us, what it’s gonna be, and that takes time. That’s why we start quickly,” he added.
Ultra Mono was released in September. It includes the singles Mr. Motivator, Grounds and War.
