“Alignment is an intuitive sonic space for holding mindfulness.”
Laraaji has teamed up with Calm to launch a new 75-minute track titled Alignment.
It’s available exclusively via the mental wellness brand’s app and is intended to help listeners “gently reflect and peacefully focus through the continual improvisation composed on the zither in G pentatonic.”
Speaking on the track, the Philadelphia-born new age ambient pioneer and laughter therapist said, “My musical sound composition Alignment is an intuitive sonic space for holding mindfulness.”

Alignment follows Laaraji’s 2020 album Sun Piano, which featured tracks like Lifting Me. Sun Piano served as the first in a trilogy of releases recorded at the same time, with companion LP, Moon Piano and an EP of piano and autoharp duets also released last year.
The likes of Moses Sumney, Nosaj Thing, Toro Y Moi, Julianna Barwick and Diplo have released music via Calm in recent months.
