AIAIAI and Ninja Tune have teamed up for a limited edition collaboration.

The collaboration sees the audio design company recycle the label’s vinyl to produce a new, limited edition set of headphones. The TMA-2 Ninja Tune Edition headphones builds on AIAIAI’s modular approach, and on a full charge will give listeners 20 hours of audio.

The headphones are out today (27 April) in select retailers such as Bleep, Phonica, Juno and Rough Trade in the UK. In Japan, you can find them at Soundhouse and in the US, head to Turntablelab to pick up a pair. The retail price is £220.

AIAIAI co-founder Frederik Jørgensen said, “Sustainability has since been a key aspect of our design and development process and we still believe we’re only just getting started.”

Joe Durnan, Ninja Tune’s Senior Designer, added: “We are keenly aware of the need to explore more ecological and earth positive means of manufacturing. To continue to exist as an industry we need to place these topics at the forefront of discussions and decisions. This collaboration is not the final answer but more so an example of how working towards greener solutions can lead to innovative and exciting results. This project is an opportunity to continue to shine a light on an increasingly pressing global issue.”
