Lucinda Chua announces new EP Antidotes 2

The south London-based cellist and vocalist has signed to 4AD.

Lucinda Chua is releasing a new EP on cult indie label 4AD. The multi-instrumentalist will release her Antidotes 2 EP on 7 May. The release opens with the enchanting Until I Fall. According to Chua, the song is about “rebirth and finding the inner strength to rise.” Watch a new William Kennedy-directed video for Until I Fall in the player above.

Back in 2019, Chua self-released her Antidotes 1 EP during her involvement in NTS Radio’s Work In Progress mentorship scheme. That same year, Chua performed alongside FKA twigs as part of her live band on the Magdalene tour. She also backed twigs during a performance of Cellephane on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. Kelly Moran was also part of the performance.

“If Antidotes 1 was Chua building the landscape and scenery for her music,” reads a statement for the new EP, “then Antidotes 2 is her living within it.” 4AD will release a vinyl edition of Antidotes featuring both EPs on 23 August.

Chua isn’t the only new signing over at 4AD. Last week, the label announced that it would be releasing the sophomore album from Danish R&B artist Erika de Casier. Find out more here
