It’s out on 10 December.

Berlin’s REIF collective is releasing its first compilation. The 15-track album, entitled REIF01, features a number of prior REIF collaborators, including Wolfgang Tillmans, rRoxymore, Jeff Mills, Asmara, Wild Daughter and Karl Holmqvist.

Speaking on the new compilation in a statement, REIF said: “We invited artists that were involved with REIF in its early stages and next generation collaborators to contribute a piece of sonic art. These works take form as sonic offerings to REIF, the memories we created, and the future we work to actualise together.”

The release leads with a new track from Cocktail d’Amore resident Juan Ramos. The accompanying visual – which is also out now – is a collaboration between Ramos and 3D artist Omer Schwartz. Check out Iniciado below.

REIF has also announced a forthcoming art residency on Centre d’Art Contemporain Geneve’s digital platform, 5th Floor, which launches on 28 October. Entitled Sonic Catharsis, the residency wil showcase collaborative audiovisual works from a number of artists featured on the compilation. Jeff Mills, for example, will team up with Isabel Lewis to present a piece entitled Drift on 26 November, while rRoxymore and Josh Johnson will explore movement and sound in a collaborative offering on 23 December.

REIF01 is slated for release on 10 December. Pre-order the compilation here and watch a video of Jeff Mills exploring the Design Museum’s Moving to Mars exhibition below.
