Thom Yorke releases new track, 5.17

I See You

The new solo release from Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke was written for the final series of Peaky Blinders.

5.17 was released via XL Recordings. The new track is one half of a double-single, with the other part – That’s How Horses Are – slated for release on 3 April. It had recently been reported that Yorke and fellow Radiohead bandmate Jonny Greenwood were set to contribute new original work to the sixth and final series of hit BBC period drama Peaky Blinders. This final series of the show, which stars Cillian Murphy and Joe Cole, is currently airing.

Anna Calvi, who created the original score for the fifth season, is also involved. For the current series of the show she worked on the soundtrack alongside the Bad Seeds producer Nick Launay.

Yorke and Greenwood have also recently been working on new material with Sons of Kemet drummer Tom Skinner as The Smile. The trio announced the project last year and are set to tour Europe this summer.
