The rapper and Top Boy star has announced the follow-up to her Mercury winning 2021 release Sometimes I Might Be Introvert.

Little Simz has shared details, via social media, of her new album. Entitled NO THANK YOU, this will be her fifth record and although a release date hasn’t been given yet, the album can be pre-saved on streaming services. The new album announcement came with four lines of text that read: “Emotion is energy in motion / honour your truth and feelings / eradicate fear / boundaries are important,” before the LP title.

In addition to starring alongside Kano and Ashleigh Waters in the latest season of Top Boy, which came out via Netflix in March, this past year has seen Little Simz – real name Simbi Ajikawo – garner a whole host of accolades: from winning a Brit Award to taking home three wins at this year’s UK Music Video Awards as well as winning the 2022 Mercury Prize. When receiving the latter award, she also paid tribute to Inflo (aka SAULT) who worked on Sometimes I Might Be Introvert. “I was feeling all the emotions and really going through it and he stuck by me and pushed me to deliver this album for you guys,” Little Simz said on Inflo’s role in the creation of her fourth album. The multi-award winning producer also previously produced Little Simz’ 2019 release The Grey Area.

Little Simz featured in Crack Magazine’s The Click series earlier this year, talking about building confidence and finding her voice. She also previously spoke to us for My Life As a Mixtape – sharing a selection of tracks and albums that have been influential for her.
