Little Simz’ new Inflo-produced album NO THANK YOU is out today

The north London rapper and actor confirmed the forthcoming new album last week.

Today Little Simz has shared her new album NO THANK YOU. As with her previous two releases, the Mercury Prize-winning Sometimes I Might Be Introvert and 2019 Mercury-nominated release Grey Area, Inflo – aka SAULT – produced the ten-track record.

Announcing the album last Wednesday (7 December), Simz shared the news with a short caption, four lines of text that read: “Emotion is energy in motion / honour your truth and feelings / eradicate fear / boundaries are important”.

In addition to winning the Mercury Prize this year, Little Simz’ fourth album – Sometimes I Might Be Introvert – has garnered several awards. She won three awards at the UK Music Video Awards for Point & Kill and was also joint winner with Knucks at the 2022 MOBO Awards, with the two artists being awarded ‘Best Album of the Year’ for their respective releases.

Having previously featured as our Issue 86 cover star, earlier this year Little Simz joined co-stars Kano, Micheal Ward and Ashley Walters for our Top Boy cover story. The rapper returned to play Shelley in the lastest season of the show, which came out on Netflix in March. Alongside our Top Boy feature, we ran an accompanying podcast series featuring talks with the cast and the programme’s creator Ronan Bennett as well as an episode delving into character-building with stylists, writers, actors and casting directors from the show talking through the process.

We previously caught up with Kloe Dean – the London-based dancer, teacher and performance artist behind the choreography for the Introvert music video. Read our interview with Dean on the creative process, casting dancers and working with Little Simz.
