SHAPE+ announces open call for 2023/2024

Evita Manji

The deadline for applications is the 31 March.

SHAPE+ has shared an open call for its next artist cohort – which will run from 15 July 2023 to 14 July 2024. The platform for innovative music and audiovisual art is accepting submissions from Europe based artists.

Artists selected will be provided with a platform to nurture their talent, engaging with local communities and audiences via collaborative residencies, commissioned works and performances. Participants will be expected to choose greener forms of travel where possible.

This marks the second year of the SHAPE+ programme – which builds on the European Union co-funded platform’s previous iterations. The 15 organisations that make up SHAPE+ – including festivals and venues such as CTM Festival, Unsound, Terraforma and Prague’s MeetFactory – will select a roster of 45 artists for the forthcoming working period.

Applications are open now until 31 March. Head here to find out more and apply.

The 2022 SHAPE+ artist roster includes Catalan musician Marina Herlop – whose album Pripyat featured in our Top Albums of 2022 – audiovisual artist Wojciech Rusin and instrumentalist and interdisciplinary researcher Ale Hop. There’s also Evita Manji – who released their debut album Spandrel on PAN earlier this year – and Italian experimental producer NZIRIA.
