This year sees the ten day event at Southbank Centre curated by Christine and the Queens.

Meltdown festival returns from 9-18 June. As part of the line-up selected by the French musician, the late night programme will feature events and parties from the city’s queer nightlife scene. Kicking this off on 9 June, pop-up nightclub The Chateau will take over the Queen Elizabeth Hall Foyer to present SE_ XCELLENCE. The night will feature collectives The Spice Boys, Qwe’re, WET, Let’s Have a Kiki and UOKHUN? as well as DJ sets from the likes of Jay Jay Revlon, Rabz, Amor Ante and Tom Rasmussen with visuals by Sweatmother.

Elsewhere, on 17 June Pxssy Palace will hold a party across the Queen Elizabeth Hall Foyer and the Royal Festival Hall Clore Ballroom. Their London x Paris event will follow on from Christine and the Queens’ set that night and feature Parisian selectors Syndrome Premenstruel, Sucre Salete and Amor Satyr plus DJs MikeQ, TAAHLIAH, River Moon, Cosmic Caz and Ryan Lovell representing the London scene.

Christine and the Queens will also welcome the likes of Petite Noir, Lynks, Girli and Nxdia as well close collaborator and dancer Taos Bertrand for performances. Additionally, the programme features an immersive show from BitterSuite, which will see them present Tilted Bodies – a work set to a live arrangement inspired by Christine and the Queens’ discography in which audience members will be blindfolded and guided one-on-one through the set by a dancer.

These latest addditions to the programme join the likes of serpentwithfeet, Django Django, Warpaint, Moonchild Sanelly, KOKOROKO and Sigur Rós as well as two performances from Christine and the Queens himself.

This year will also see the Queen Elizabeth Hall Foyer feature Beat Blocks – a multi-sensory interactive flooring system aimed at enhancing the concert experience, particularly for the hearing and visually impaired and other disabled and neurodiverse attendees.
