The track marks his first new music under the moniker since 2015.

Julio Bashmore has released a new single today via Local Action. Titled Bubblin, the sub-heavy UK Garage track is the first in a series of new releases from him with more new music from the Bristol producer set to drop this year on the London-label. The new release also features artwork by Bashmore himself with typography by Alfie Allen.

Announcing the return of Bashmore – and his first music on the imprint – Local Action wrote: “the boy is back”, adding that Bubblin is “the first in a series of new Bash records on the way.” Since his debut album Knockin’ Boots in 2015, the producer has mostly stepped away from the circuit with just a couple of white label 12″s released as Bash. Last April he also uploaded a video of him playing with hardware at his home and his last performance under the Bashmore alias was five years ago in London.

Last Friday, Overmono opened their set at fabric – as part of their new album release party – with the new Bashmore cut. Listen to Bubblin below.

Bashmore was a key name in the early 2010s UK underground house scene with releases on labels including 3024, Futureboogie, Dirtybird, and PMR Records. We featured his track Battle For Middle You in our top 100 songs of the decade: “this track got everyone all in a tizzy and catapulted Bashmore into the DJ stratosphere in the process” we wrote of the track which includes a vocal sample from Mass Production’s 1977 disco heater People Get Up.
