The new festival from Kings Place takes its name and ethos from the venue’s long-running experimental music series.

Kings Place is launching a music festival. An extension of the London venue’s existing event series, the Luminate festival will be curated around sonic exploration and “boundary-pushing artists”. The debut edition is slated for 12-15 October with the likes of aya, Daniel Blumberg, felicita, Theon Cross and FAUZIA & Maddie Ashman announced. Space Afrika – who were tapped as Artists in Residence for Sound Unwrapped, the 15th edition of Kings Place’s Unwrapped series – were also announced. Luminate itself will form part of Sound Unwrapped, which explores spatial dimensions in live performance and shines a light on sound artists.

More names and events are still to be revealed for the festival, which will bring together performances and installations in the London space, making use of Kings Place’s d&b audiotechnik Soundscape system. Tickets will go on sale on Friday (30 June).
