Weekender Festival announces details of its debut edition

The new event – organised by the team behind Meakusma festival and ArsVitha – comes to St Vith, Belgium from 25-27 August.

Staging its debut edition across various venues in the Belgian town, Weekender Festival has shared the complete programme. Confirmed to perform there’s Nyege Nyege Tapes afilliates MC Yallah and Debmaster with other artists including OJOO GYAL, Bar Italia, Maxine Denuc and HiTech joining the bill. Dan Nicholls is also slated to play both a solo set and as his collaborative project with Julian Sartorius and Louise Boer.

As part of a collaboration with label and event series Accidental Meetings, Bristol multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Memotone will play. There will also be DJ sets from the Accidental Meetings crew. Elsewhere on the line-up, there’s Belgian avant-rock group Aksak Maboul, Eera, The Pilotwings’ Jonquera and German house music artists Lawrence and Isolée.

On the local tip, artists from St. Vith and the surrounding areas include soFa Elsewhere and Melokan Fusion. There’s also Revolte Kollektiv who will present a club line-up featuring DJ sets from Maxbar, Gedankentief and Grazon b2gb Stinny. In addition to the music, there will be installations from Frédéric Le Junter and Lukas De Clerck in collaboration with Vincent Caers.
