Ortigia Sound System announces new venue, radio programming and boat party line-ups for 2023

The ninth edition of the Sicilian festival – which takes place on Ortigia, the historic centre of Syracuse – kicks off next week.

Ahead of time, the festival has announced a slew more details and projects set to feature as part of the event, which runs from 26-29 July with the likes of Space AfrikaLucrecia DaltJoy Orbison and Moin confirmed. Eris DrewOcto Octa and DJ Plead were also announced for the Crack Magazine stage.

First up, Syracuse’s Massimo Comunale will join the event’s roster of venues and locations, playing host to a special live performance from Marina Herlop on the Friday evening among other scheduled programming. Elsewhere, artists such as Zakia, 3Phaz, Ece Duzgit and Blenk will play the Lido SS for the Trippin-hosted stage. The daytime programming will also include a collaboration with Movement Radio, which will see the broadcast of mixtapes and live DJ sets from the likes of GAIKA and Virginia W.

Announcing the return of its boat parties – a link-up this year with K-Way – Ortigia Sound System has confirmed five parties taking place across three days. John Talabot will play a three-hour set at the first party, taking place on 27 July. Toumba and Ehua, and Bitter Babe and DJ Plead, are among the names also locked in.
