The new programme will offer participants hands-on radio broadcasting experience.
Refuge Worldwide is launching a new radio mentorship programme. Running from 4 September to 20 November 2023, the course will give mentees one-on-one sessions to develop new radio shows and learn a range of radio broadcasting and production skills. This will cover everything from concept development, interview and research techniques to DJing, storytelling, audio production and marketing.
Mentorship for the programme comes from five residents on the Berlin community radio station – with Gabriel Gifford, Nicky Böhm, Two Thou, Monty Luke and ELLLL all taking part. Each of the five mentors will work closely with two mentees to develop their creative ideas. Sessions will take place on Mondays at Refuge Worldwide with one and a half hour sessions and time slots available from 10am through to 7pm (CET).
Applications are open now – head to Refuge Worldwide’s website for further information. Listen back to a mix from Refuge Worldwide co-founder Richard Akingbehin below.
