Evian Christ’s debut album is dropping next month.

The long-awaited project was announced today (6 September) and is called Revanchist. The eight-track release will be released on 20 October via Warp and features Merely and Bladee. It leads with a new single called On Embers. Check that out below.

The new album has been described as an exploration into the “latent potential in trance to evoke, beyond euphoria, the fullest feeling of the sublime” with influences said to include Madonna and William Orbit’s Ray Of Light, Sasha’s Xpander and Laibach’s Across the Universe. It follows a string of remixes by the Ellesmere Port artist born Joshua Leary for the likes of Bladee, Mechatok and Malibu – as well as his 2020 single Ultra, which served as his Warp label debut, alongside other high-profile production credits. Leary’s debut mixtape Kings And Them landed in 2012.

Longtime collaborator David Rudnick is behind the album artwork, having worked with Leary extensively in the past on artist projects as well as Leary’s much-loved Trance Party club nights.
