New Bristol-based queer radio station to launch at Strange Brew tomorrow night

The station is hosting a club night at Strange Brew tomorrow (22 February) to celebrate its launch.

Announced in November of last year (2023), Kunt Up Music.FM (K.U.M FM) launches tomorrow (22 February) with a club night at Strange Brew. The lineup includes peoplelikeusdj, Dani Whylie and Ohana.

After its launch, the station will broadcast weekly from Thursday to Sunday and aims to shine a light on Bristol’s queer scene and creative community. The programming is set to include “carefully curated daily shows that feature underground sounds, important conversations, event shoutouts and much, much more.”

In a statement on Instagram, K.U.M stated that ticket sales from the event will go towards the costs of running the station. “The station is setup to be accessible for all the community and it has been entirely self-funded so far. Supporting this event will ensure the station stays accessible for everyone in the future and continues providing a platform for the city’s queer community.” K.U.M have also set up a GoFundMe for donations to help support the costs of the station.
