MUBI are offering Crack readers the chance stream the critically-acclaimed film, Priscilla, with thirty days free.

The Priscilla Presley biopic, based on the 1985 memoir Elvis and Me, is now available to stream online exclusively on MUBI.

The film, which follows the tumultuous relationship between Elvis and Priscilla Presley, premiered at the 80th Venice International Film Festival on 4 September 2023. Since its premiere, Priscilla has received critical acclaim with lead actress Cailee Spaeny receiving a golden globe nomination as well as being awarded the Volpi Cup for Best Actress.

Through Priscilla’s eyes, the film follows the iconic couple’s relationship from its start, when a teenage Priscilla meets an already famous Elvis Presley, through their long courtship and turbulent marriage.

In a statement via press release Coppola reveals the inspiration for her approach, “Priscilla was mainly seen in the world of entertainment tabloids as ‘Elvis’s child bride’ but I felt there was a much more interesting story to tell.”

She continues, “[It’s] about a girlish wish that came true, but wasn’t what she imagined, about coming of age inside both incredible fame and great loneliness…about the strength it took for her to realise that, as much as she loved Elvis, she had to go.”

After a cinema run, the film is now able to stream at home with MUBI, a curated streaming service which is also home to The Worst Person In The World and Molly Manning Walker’s debut picture How To Have Sex, among a whole host of other hand picked films available to members for £11.99 a month.
