Attention Manchester, we’re excited to be showing up next month for an event at one of our favourite independent venues, Band on the Wall.
We’re working with Smirnoff to present co-signed – a live music showcase bringing together local artists on our radar. No fixed genres, all good sounds, and delicious Smirnoff drinks. There’s nowhere better to start than Manchester which has been a home for our monthly physical issue since the very beginning. More importantly, it is home to some definitive Crack Magazine artists. From Anz, Afrodeutsche and Meme Gold right through to Space Afrika, Blackhaine and Rainy Miller. You don’t have to spend long looking to find the good stuff.
On Wednesday 3 July, 7-11pm, we’ll welcome three acts you need to hear to Band on the Wall. First up, cruush, whose dreamy shoegaze EP Nice Things Now, All The Time has been on repeat semi-permanently in the office since we first heard it. Next up is KinKai, a rapper who joins Children of Zeus in the generation of Manchester artists bringing soul and sample-heavy warmth to street rap.
Closing out will be Abena. As the founder of All Hands on Deck, an open-deck party for women and nonbinary people in Manchester who want to try their hand at DJing, Abena is responsible for spotlighting the finest sounds the city has to offer as well nurturing the next generation of selectors. There’s nobody better placed to bring this home.
Oh yes, it’s free. And we’ve got Smirnoff, the World’s No.1 Vodka, to thank for some free drinks too. RSVP via this link and we’ll see you there. It’s first-come-first-served so sign up today to avoid missing out.
