The festival will be returning to Downtown Reykjavík for its 25th edition from 7-9 November.
Iceland Airwaves has announced the second wave of artists for its 25th Anniversary edition in November. Spanning a wide range of genres, the new additions include both rising names and crowd-pulling artists like Overmono and The Vaccines.
Other names announced include alternative indie band English Teacher, New York-based hyperpop artist Alice Longyu Gao, rapper Villano Antillano and post-punk band and multi-media collective cumgirl8.
The festival is also honouring its commitment to the local creative scene with artists including Icelandic pianist and composer Gabríel Ólafs, who will play alongside Elín Hall – another Icelandic artist – following up on her album Heyrist í mér, made with The Vaccines’ bassist Árni Hjörvar.
Previously announced names include Mandy, Indiana, Shygirl, and Crack cover stars Bar Italia.
