What to expect at Full Of Lava festival this weekend

Championing rising artists and experimental music, the festival is a new member of the SHAPE+ platform.

Taking place from this weekend from 21-24 November, Dampfzentrale Bern’s Full Of Lava celebrates all things experimental music. From avant-garde artists to experimental musicians to those pushing the boundaries of pop music, the festival is all about looking to the future.

This year’s edition sees performances from DJs and musicians including claire rousay, Damsel Elysium, Gazelle Twin, Klein, Spresso, Florence Sinclair and plus44kaligula, alongside SHAPE+ collaborations with China-hailing multifaceted artist otay:onii and vocalist, sound artist and composer Antonina Nowacka.

Co-funded by the EU and, as of this summer, Pro Helvetica, SHAPE+ currently consists of 18 non-profit venues and festivals, and is dedicated to championing rising artist’s careers through events, residencies and performances as well as collaborations and commissions. Alongside other new additions – including Serbian festival Polja and Dutch favourite Rewire – Full of Lava became a partner this year.
